XPG has been working hard to develop a plugin for MSP430-gcc and MSPDebug… and it looks like he’s come to a workable solution. He’s made sure it works with the latest version of Eclipse Indigo. If installing from source or the command line intimidates you, then this is a perfect method to install an open source development environment for the MSP430
It’s seem that I finally succeeded in building a plugin for Eclipse, which contains compiled versions of GCC, GDB, and mspdebug, and also integrates these somewhat into Eclipse. Currently, I would strongly advice people, who which to try my plugin, to use Eclipse Indigo.
He gives step-by-step instructions on how to go about it in his Forum thread.

I would suggest to move the eclipse specific part into a repository of its own under the umbrella of mspgcc at SF, in order to ease its ditribution (both source and compiled) and let it be a bit more maintenable.
