Karve has put up a very good writeup on interfacing the DS18B20 temperature sensor to the Launchpad. This Maxim series temperature sensor works on the Maxim OneWire protocol which needs a single contact serial interface. Karve’s post also shows timing diagrams detailing his OneWire bitbang interface.
