One of our members, Automate, let us know about panStamp’s recent announcement about using the CC430 TI SOC solution in their product line. Currently, PanStamps are small wireless modules programmable from the Arduino IDE. Each module contains an Atmega328p MCU and a Texas Instruments CC1101 RF interface, providing the necessary connectivity and processing power to create autonomous low-power wireless motes.
The new modules are entirely based on a CC430F5137 SOC (made by Texas Instruments). This eases development and product support as the micro-controller and radio are in one package. There will also be support for the CC430 radio chip in Energia.
